Meet John

After facing hardships as a young man that could have permanently derailed his life, John has become a respected and successful business owner who views his companies as a platform to reach people for Christ and support ministries around the world. He is the Founder and CEO of John Houston Homes, a homebuilding company he began in 2005. Since that time, he has started five additional companies which make up the JH Family of Companies including Trinity Oaks Mortgage, recently named by National Mortgage News as the #1 best mortgage company to work for in the US, a land-development company, a title company, an insurance company, and an environmental erosion company.

During his journey of building these businesses, John has stayed true to his core belief of putting God first, family second and work third. This has created a company culture and brand that excels at the highest level. When asked how he leads his companies, John says “I make the best business decisions possible with the most talented workforce…unless God specifically leads us in a certain direction.”

John is the author of Finding My Way Home:  A Journey to Discover Hope and a Life of Purpose (Forefront Books, April 20, 2021).  In the book, he candidly shares the story of overcoming huge obstacles as a teenager and the journey he took with God to become the husband, father and leader he is today.

He is a graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and his favorite, an associate’s degree in Bible. He serves on several local non-profit boards, including his alma mater,  and the Oaks Church.

John has been married to his beautiful wife, Tracy, for more almost thirty years, and they are the parents of two young adult kids, Austin and Ashtyn. They live outside of Dallas and enjoy eating a great steak, spending time outdoors, and traveling on adventures together as a family.
